The Margaret River Wildlife Hospital will serve an area stretching from Perth, south to Albany and east to Esperance, providing veterinary care for a diverse range of native wildlife species found across the South West.
The Southwest is home to many unique and threatened species found nowhere else in the world, including quokkas, quenda, western ringtail possums and black cockatoos. The numbat, whose wild population fell to an estimated one thousand animals, is the hospital’s logo. The Margaret River Wildlife Hospital will work closely with DBCA and Perth Zoo to ensure existing recovery programs for these species are supported.
